The 1000 shares at higher price than they buy at that price than they buy at 1700 share if you had sold the 1000 shares at that price and later in the transaction not too bad for few hours work.

There are many ways you can profit (”make money”) from trading (buying/selling) stock such as:

1. Buying stock at a certain price per share (example: $10.00) and selling at a higher price per share (example: $15.00).

2. Shorting stock at a certain price per share (example: $90.00) and then covering your short position at a lower price per share (example: $70.00).

3. Buying stock that pays quarterly dividends (example: $0.45 a share).
